Easter Newsletter

As we come to the end of the Spring Term, we have had lots of fun and memory making.

Our website has been updated and looks amazing please go and have a look.

Our Facebook page is also there for you to peruse, and we are putting on lots of photos so you can see what your little ones have been getting up to.  Please check the page out and give us some likes.

Asda are relaunching their ‘Green Token’ reward scheme and we are hopeful of being picked to be a recipient.  If we are lucky enough, we will let you know how and when to vote.

New Garden Toys

As you enter our garden area you will notice that we have taken delivery of lots of new equipment.  The Government launched a scheme in October to give Nurseries a Grant to enable them to support the children through the Pandemic.  We applied and were given funds to improve the children’s outside area as so many children have been very restricted throughout Covid 19 to limited space. I am sure the children will have a lot of fun on all our new equipment.

However, we now find ourselves with a lot of old equipment that we no longer need.  This is where we need your help. We need to dispose of quite a few items and would ask that if we place these outside of Playgroup could we have some volunteers to take a few items to the tip for us so removing the cost of hiring a skip.

Healthy Lunch Boxes

As well as the Government supporting us with embracing our ‘Healthy Outside Area’, for which we know we are very fortunate to have such a great outside space, they are also embracing ‘Healthy Eating’.  As part of the Oral Hygiene Campaign, we have been asked to remind you all to keep a check on your child’s lunch box contents.  Lunch boxes should be healthy with, where possible, a choice of fruits, yoghurts and not too much sugar, although we do appreciate that everyone needs a certain amount of sugar for the energy they use.  Also, can we reiterate no fizzy drinks should be placed into lunch boxes.

Also due to allergies we cannot allow any foods which contain nuts.

We really appreciate your continued support regarding lunch boxes.

Hot Weather

Hopefully the Summer Term will bring with it some lovely weather. Could we ask therefore that all children bring in a named Sunhat to be kept at Playgroup.  Also, if you could apply Sun Tan Lotion to your child prior to their arrival at Playgroup we will keep them topped up during the day with our own Hypoallergenic cream.

However, if your child has their own Sun Cream, please let a member of staff know and place it in their bag with their name on it.

Waiting List

Our numbers are looking quite good for September so if you would like more sessions, please let Magda know. Also, if you have a sibling you would like to add to our Waiting List again please let Magda know.

As with everybody else we have had to cope with rising prices. To this end our Fees will be going up to £6 per hour from April. Our Snack fee will also be going up to £8 per term. This covers all the snack foods and more which we believe is still very good value.

Queen’s Diamond Jubilee

We will be having our own ‘Street Party’ to celebrate this amazing achievement. More details will follow upon our return from the Easter Break.

Playgroup will close on Friday, 1 April until Monday 18 April for the Easter holidays and will re-open on Tuesday, 19 April.

We wish you all a Very Happy Easter and thank you all for your continued support of our Playgroup.
